About Odeda Local Government Area

Odeda Local Government has its headquarter at Odeda, a place situated along Abeokuta- Ibadan Road, which is about 10 kilomitres from Abeokuta (the State Capital) consisting of several towns which includes Ogboye, Ogeleje, Ogunbayo, Oluga, Olugbo, Rogun Rogun, Sokan, Agbe, Baagbon, Bangboye, Ego and Fagbemi. The Agura of Gbagura is the only state recognised Oba in the Local Government area. It has an extensive landmass mostly grass.The vegetation of the Local Government is mainly Orchard and of thick grasses.Thus, the land is suitable for agriculture and livestock rearing

Odeda local Government is one of the twenty local governments in ogun state of Nigeria. The headquarters is at Odeda located at Abeokuta Ibadan road which is about 20 Kilometers from the state capital Abeokuta. It was created out of Egba Division council in October 1955 by the Action group control western Nigeria government of Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo the first premier of the region.

Population

Odeda Local Government has an estimated population of 186,300.

Land Mass

It has an area of 1,560 km2 and a population of 109,449 at the 2006 census. It is made up of about 129 towns and villages.
