About Hon. Folasade Adeyemo
FAMILY/ANCESTRAL BACKGROUND
Hon.Folasade Waliat Adeyemo Nee Soyinka Olowolagba) a full blooded Egba daughter with Royal background was born on 25th December 1967 to the family of Late Alhaji Musendiku Oluwole Soyinka Olowolagba (A.k.a.Alhaji Yellow) and Late Alhaja Muinatu Adeyoyin(nee MALOMO) .Her Paternal family home is Olowolagba Compound,No 7,Alatise street Ikereku, Abeokuta .
Her late father, Musendiku Oluwole was a direct descendant and indeed a great great grandson of Bashorun Somoye the Regent/Ruler of Egbaland 1845-1846(1st Reign) and 1862-1866(2nd Reign).
Her Mother Muinatu Adeyoyin was a Princess of the Great Malomo family of Agbole Sooke of the Royal Otileta Ruling House (Olowu of Owu Royal Stool.
Her ancestral villages are, Orile Daboyin via Olugbo in Odeda LGA, Ikereku Alaun via Kajola, and Iganna Paraga in Obafemi Owode LGA, Olugbena in Ewekoro LGA.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
In view of her father’s relocation from Abeokuta to ilaro young Folasade had her primary and secondary education at Ilaro Ogun State . She attended Nawarudeen NUD primary school Ilaro , Anglican Grammar School and Egbado College now Yewa College between 1972-1985.
She proceeded to Lagos State College of Education ,Oto ijanikin,(now Adeniran Ogunsanya) and got her National Certificate of Education, NCE in Economics/Political Science.) degree in 1990.Her quest for more knowledge took her to Ogun state University,now Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU where she bagged her Bachelor of Education B.Ed. Degree Guidance & Counseling/Political Science) in I997 and her Masters In Education M.Ed in (Counseling Psychology) from the prestigious premier University of ibadan in the year 2000. Currently she is a PhD student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Ibadan.
She has certification in Computer Proficiency in 2013 .She also attended Advanced Digital Appreciation Course in 2018.
PROFESSIONAL/ WORKING CAREER
She started her career as a teacher with the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission in 1991.She taught in several secondary schools which includes N.U.D Grammar School Obantoko,Muslim High School Alabata etc
In furtherance of her career, Folasade changed her job from secondary to tertiary level with appointment as a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology,Guidance & Counseling of the Federal College of Education Osiele Abeokuta in 2012.She held several academics and adhoc responsibilities at FCE .A very erudite academics and researcher, she has over 35 publications which includes thesis,desertions,books,monographs , published journal articles,conferences and seminar papers to her credit .
Folashade was the Acting Chairman Association of Professional Counsellor of Nigeria (APROCON) Ogun State Chapter. Between 2019+2021
An active Member, Counselling Association of Nigeria and Member Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRC).
She retired from FCE as a Senior Lecturer into active politics in 2021 having served government meritoriously for almost 30 years.
MARITAL/FAMILY LIFE
Alhaja Folasade Adeyemo a devout Muslim is married to Alhaji (Engr)Adefemi Adeyemo a native of ilaro and blessed with children and grandchildren.
POLITICAL JOURNEY
Her late father Alhaji Oluwole Soyinka Olowolagba was an astute politician, hence the young Folashade has been exposed to political activities from her youthful years.
However she officially dabbled into politics in year 2007, with All Nigeria Peoples Party ANPP, Conscience People's Congress, CPC, Action Congress of Nigeria ACN which later metamorphosed to All Progressive Congress APC.
She served the parties diligently and concentiously in various capacities.
In her party ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS, She has done the following and more.
1.a loyal and committed party woman who sees to a regular attendance of meetings.
b.Overseeing peaceful conduct of party activities at all times.
c. financing party activities when called upon to do so.
d.Mobilizing support for the party especially among women.
